Award-winning FDTC team take tea with Governor

Governor of Victoria, Her Excellency the Honourable Linda Dessau AC, extended a special invitation to representatives of the Family Drug and Treatment Court (FDTC) last month.

FDTC Statewide Program Manager Matt Wilson accompanied Magistrate Annabel Hawkins to attend the afternoon tea at Government House on 29 January. The pair were invited by Her Excellency the Honourable Linda Dessau AC to celebrate the prestigious Robin Miller ‘Making a Difference’ Award, which the FDTC won at the 2019 Victorian Protecting Children Awards.

The Robin Miller ‘Making a Difference’ Award recognises an individual, team or group within the child and family service sector, who have made an exceptional contribution to directly improve the lives of non-Aboriginal and Aboriginal children, young people and families in Victoria.  The FDTC’s 2019 recognition is the first time that a Victorian protecting Children Award has been awarded to a Court or Court-based program.
