The Children’s Court Annual Report for 2022-23 was tabled in Parliament on 30 November 2023. The report sets out the achievements for the Court during the last financial year, including our return to pre Covid pending case levels and the opening of the new Dandenong Children’s Court.
Highlights of 2022-23 include:
a new specialist Children’s Court in Dandenong that provides court users with a safe, accessible, and welcoming environment.
the Children’s Court Weekend Online Remand Court (WORC). From September to June 2023, WORC has heard 173 matters from across the state, significantly reducing pressure on local courts on weekends and public holidays.
the two-year anniversary of Marram-Ngala Ganbu (M-NG) at Shepparton, a dedicated program that provides a welcoming and culturally safe environment for Koori children and their families.
